Make SheNative Happen! Empower Indigenous Women & Girls!!!

Hi, my name is Devon Fiddler and I'm the Founder and Chief Changemaker of SheNative Goods Inc.

SheNative is an ethical brand of handbags and accessories dedicated to empowering Native women and girls. We do this through the design, production and fabrication of our goods. A portion of our revenue goes to programs or services that support/empower disadvantaged Native women and girls.

Our bags are beautiful, classic, and timeless, with a native flair. We showcase the beauty of our cultures, with clean lines, luxurious materials, and we are locally made here in Saskatoon.

So why should you care about Making SheNative Happen??

At SheNative we EMPOWER Indigenous Women and Girls by:

• Giving a portion of our revenue towards creating POSITIVE OPPORTUNITIES to woman’s organizations with the same mission (Empower disadvantaged Women and Girls)
• Providing a secondary or a primary income to Aboriginal women with SheNative Goods Inc. through design opportunity for designers/artisans, or working for the company.

Why should you care about Empowering Native Women and Girls?

Native women are the most disadvantaged women in Canada. Native Women in Canada:
• Make up less less than 3% of the population and 30% of the female prison population;
• Are 5 times more likely to die as a result of violence; and
• 43% live in extreme poverty; double the rate of non-native women.

SheNative Goods Inc. wants to be apart of the solution through our positive opportunities for women and girls. We will fight these statistics and negative stereotypes surrounding native women!

How could I help?

Make a Pledge: By helping us kick-start the SheNative Company. In exchange for making a pledge, we have come up with a variety of Pledge Levels and Perks that you could receive in return.

+The Project FAQ's

What will the money go towards?

The $10,000.00 raised will go towards purchasing inventory for our accessories and T-shirt line, and the sample production of our handbag collection (this includes materials, labour, and shop equipment and supplies).

What do I get out of it?

You receive a perk when you make a pledge. Our perks include the ShopIndigenous.ca Kiowa Sage line of T-shirts, which include both a Mens and Womens Bluebird and Brownbird design, and a women’s Teal Kiowa Sage T-shirt. And finally a choice our four colours of beaded hand-made artisans.

How do I chose my T-shirt Style?

After you have made your pledge, email devon@shenative.com to choose a T-shirt style and size. We only have 100 T-shirts in a variety of different sizes, however, it is not guaranteed that you will get the size or style that you want. It will be on a first come, first served basis.

Why should I make SheNative happen?

Cuz we're awesome! And we will make awesome ethical handbags and accessories that EMPOWER Native women and girls. We do this in a variety of ways. We work with Native artisans and designers in the fabrication of our goods thereby supporting entrepreneurs, we will ensure that Native women are first priority when hiring and finally, a portion of our revenues will go towards programs and services that support disadvantaged women and girls.

Hello Everyone!!

So, we’ve had another busy week at SheNative, with only 2 days left to go and a couple hundred more to raise!

So we did pretty good in the SK Business Challenge, we won’t find out if we’ve placed in the top 3 until next week June 26th. Yesterday, we did an interview at Global Saskatoon, really early in the morning – 6:45 am, which is super early for me. Here’s the link to the interview: SK Business Challenge Interview with Global Saskatoon.

Today, I did an interview with SHAW TV which will air on Tuesday, June 24. So watch out for that early next week!

With all your help, we can finally make our orders for the materials that we’ve selected and send everything to our sample-maker!! Some of these things have been done!

Early next week, we will be sure to send out all of your perks to you, if you haven’t already got them. And you got two more days to make a pledge, if you haven’t already done that, or if you would like to make another donation.

PRAXIS has updated their Crowdfunding Platform, and YOU NOW HAVE THE OPTION TO PLEDGE MORE THAN THE SPECIFIED AMOUNT ON THE PLATFORM! YAY!

We’ve recently posted our brand new logo onto all of our social media platforms. We love it! We hope you love just as much as you do!
